Ordinary chondrite, veined (L6)
Fell, 19 May 1858, 8 hrs; 577 g, single stone
Coordinates according to the MetBull Database:

A small stone was recovered after detonations were heard. Composition and textures of Olivine (Fa23) and low Ca-orthopyroxene ('hypersthene') in fragments, chondrules (frequently indistinct), and matrix are characteristic of L6-chondrites. Dominant olivine and orthopyroxene are accompanied by minor troilite and Fe-Ni metal. Reported additional phases include accessory chromite, ilmenite, and minor sulfides. An intriguing plagioclase-chromite intergrowth was also reported by Ramdohr. Indeed, except for the observations by Paul Ramdohr [citations below] very little of mineralogical significance has been reported about this small stone during the past four decades.
The L-group of ordinary chondrites (relatively low in total iron) are the largest group of classified witnessed meteorite falls. As of June 2017, 272 witnessed meteorite falls had been classified exactly as 'L6' chondrites. The main mass has been kept at the Naturhistorisches Museum in Wiens (aka, Vienna).
