The Duplex Hill prospect is about five kilometres south of the Kalgoorlie-Mount Monger Road, half way between the Blair Nickel Mine, and Wombola Gold Mine. 35 kilometres south-east of Kalgoorlie. Immediately south south-west of Duplex Hill.
Explored 1968-1974 by Conwest, Amax, and Anglo American.
The ultramafic and mafic rocks trend north-north-east, dipping moderately to steeply west. This consists of metapicrite and metabasalt flow units, with amphibolite and metadolerite to the west. Poor outcrop. Lacks olivine.
Mineralisation is found in fine stringers and disseminated sulphide in brecciated tremolite, chlorite, talc, and carbonate. Sulphides include pyrrhotite, pyrite, pentlandite, violarite, and chalcopyrite.
To the south-west is the minor Duplex West prospect of disseminated
pyrrhotite, pentlandite and chalcopyrite. The source also mentions the minor Walkers Find Ni prospect, 2 kilometres north-west of the Duplex Hill prospect, near some abandoned gold workings. Violarite, pyrite and chalcopyrite is mentioned.
