Part of the main Lanfranchi mine. Discovered in 1969 as a small gossan. Ore was produced from December 1975.
The deposit is 15 to 35 metres thick in the basal area of granular, medium grained talc-magnesite, chlorite rock, capped by spinifex textured talc, chlorite, carbonate, amphibole rock, 1-2 metres thick.
Most of the ore is found in the supergene zone. Massive ore contains quartz veins, with also lenses and layers of pyrite rich sulphides. A small area of Hanging wall ore is 300 metres to the north-east of the main shoot. Thin disseminated sulphides are also 20 metres above the Footwall.
Supergene mineralisation extends to 100 metres below the surface of violarite, pyrite, chalcopyrite, marcasite, millerite, and rare covellite. Transitional ore is pyrrhotite, pentlandite, violarite, pyrite, and chalcopyrite 100 to 120 metres below the surface. Massive ore grades at 10% Ni, disseminated ore 4-6% Ni.
