An anthracite coal mine.

NOTE: Coordinates provided place this mine on the Susquehanna River. Many mines in the area had entrances on or near the river banks and mined coal beneath the river. Such mining practices led to a major cave-in and flooding of area mines when the river bed failed. The affected mines were never reopened.
