Seven anomalies have been identified, four named as Southern, Central, Fridge and Fault. Located south-east of the Bulong Nickel Mine, and near the western shores of Lake Yindarlgooda. The anomalies are the probable source of many gold nuggets found on the salt lake in this area with metal detectors over the years.

Some minor mining has taken place in the area, to 1967 4500 tonnes of ore at 13.5 g/t. The area was explored in 1987 by Trafalgar Mining NL, and in 1995 by Manor Resources Limited.

The gold deposits are in flats between hills of the Bulong Ultramafic Complex to the west, and Lake Yindarlgooda to the east. They are on the limb of the western plunging Bulong Anticline.

Gold mineralisation is hosted by felsic volcanics, volcaniclastics and intrusives of the Juglah rock assemblage, separated by the north striking Goddard Fault from the Bulong Ultramafic Complex to the west.

Regolith depths vary over the area, and weathering reaches 45 to 85 metres. Near the Goddard Fault colluvial can be 5 metres thick. The area is near the salt lake margins, of residual soil, small dunes and alluvial cover. Mineralisation is also found on the saprolite floor at Lake Yindarlgooda.

The anomalies are part of a complex and extensive shear and fracture system, in felsic rocks, adjacent to the Goddard Fault. There is pervasive chlorite-carbonate alteration, and extensive complex of sheeted auriferous quartz veins, with coalescing envelopes of intense carbonate-sericite-pyrite alteration.

The sheeted vein complex is up to 60 metres thick, dipping west 20-30 degrees. Gold is found coarse in the quartz, which has promoted the shedding of nuggets. The quartz veins are high grade but narrow at less than 300 mm wide.

Overall grades are low and sub-economic for mining purposes. The Central anomaly is seen as the largest with 209 000 tonnes at 4.41 g/t, or 2.28 Mt at 0.91 g/t with a 0.15 g/t cut-off. Most of the anomalies range from 1 to 2 g/t.
