The Lemonade Springs Cut is near the (mineralogically similar) Police Station Cut and they are both near the southern end of the Greenbushes town site.

Holmquistite idioblasts occur in a hornblende-titanite-quartz-plagioclase amphibolite, in contact with a lithium (spodumene) pegmatite.
