Köppen climate type:
A gold mine located 17 km West of the Wooltana homestead. Mining started in 1899, but after the load proved unpayable, mining soon ceased. Later becoming a copper mine with small workings being located on the hillside above the original workings. A sample assayed on 5th July 1901 gave gold, 3 dwts; silver, 17 ozs and copper, 17 3/4 per cent. Mining had completely ceased by 1911.
The mine is now part of a National Park and collecting is probihited.
Seemingly, the other locality name (or a misnomer?) is Wortupa → new mineral species wortupaite.
