Following the reorganisation of 1996, the Unitary Authority of Vale of Glamorgan was formed from the administrative county of South Glamorgan.
South Glamorgan was itself only formed during the 1974 administrative reorganisation, being a sub-division of the traditional county of Glamorgan that dates back to the middle ages.
Specimens from locations listed here may be labelled as Vale of Glamorgan, South Glamorgan or Glamorgan depending upon the period that they were collected.
