The former village of Sant'Antonio Morignone was completely destroyed by the Val Pola landslide, happened on July 28, 1987. As a consequence of this disastrous event, various minerals have been found in the rock material accumulations, originated from the Val Pola landslide and the subsequent excavation works for restoring the road and the Adda riverbed. From gabbro fissures the following minerals have been described: amphibole, apophyllite, calcite, chalcedony, chalcopyrite, chlorite, datolite, heulandite, laumontite, natrolite, pyrite, prehnite, quartz, scolecite, sphalerite, stilbite and thomsonite (Romani & Mottana, 1997). Crystals of apatite and pyrrhotite have also been found (Bedognè et al. 2006).

Furthermore, grossular and ilmenite have been found in a calciphyre lens, cropping out between Sant'Antonio Morignone and Verzedo (Romani & Mottana, 1997).
