Metamorphosed lateritic Fe-Ni deposit.
Located near the village of Ržanovo.

See also the Studena Voda deposit, a continuation of the Ržanovo deposit.

Rzhanovo is a ferronickel mine in the area of Tikveshko Mariovo, in the southern part of Macedonia. The opening of the mine was the basis for the construction of the Feni smelter (nowadays Euronickel Smelter) near Kavadarci in 1982.

The ore occurs at the contact between the Jurassic serpentinites and the shales in the foothills and the Cretaceous limestones. Spatially, the ore layer has a subvertical position and under the influence of strong tectonic movements it has an inverse position. The mineral association of this deposit is magnetite, hematite, clinochlore, talc, sepiolite, pyrite, maghemite, pyrrhotite, digenite, millerite, etc.

Total determined geological ore reserves of ferronickel are 42 million tons with 31% iron and 1.03% nickel.
The annual production of the mine was 800,000 tons of ore, with about 1% nickel, 30% iron, and 0.05% cobalt. Production was halted in 2013 by Feni Industries, which closed the mine, laying off its employees.
Between the open pit of the "Rzhanovo" mine and the "Feni" smelter there is a transport lane for transporting ore, which is one of the longest in the Balkans.
