Marinha Grande is a Portuguese city in the district of Leiria, in the province of Estremadura in the Central region of Portugal.

It is the seat of the municipality of Marinha Grande, which has an area of 187.25 km² and 39,032 inhabitants (2021 census), and is subdivided into 3 parishes (Marinha Grande, Vieira de Leiria and Moita). The municipality is bordered to the north and east by the municipality of Leiria, to the south by Alcobaça and to the west it is bathed by the Atlantic Ocean.



Mining concession no. 828 "Pinhal de Leiria" (Coal), Marinha grande parish, registered on 10-12-1918.
