Quarry where marble has been exploited, located near Villanueva de Bogas but in Tembleque municipality.

This is a decimeter-scale alternation of marbles and gneisses belonging to the metamorphic rocks of the migmatitic unit, with a high content of Al203 (peraluminous), which apparently has some level (not visible in the quarry) where the paragenesis corundum + spinel, which has made this site famous, occurs.
The specimens were found in loose rock at the entrance to the farm, some of them larger than 50 cm.
Spinel crystals (sections), have a nice pink coloration. Corundum crystals (sections) show a slight blue tinge, with a more intense color area (sapphire).

At levels of marble from the quarry, there is also some metal mineralization.

At the time the finds created a certain stir, including articles in the newspapers about a possible gemological interest.
This is a great site of geological and mineralogical interest unique in Spain.
