Kingman is a city which lies in a gap or divide between two mountain ranges - the Cerbat Mountains to the North and the Hualapai Mountains to the South. The name "Kingman" is used in this database for occurrences in proximity to Kingman in the mining districts of the Hualapai Mountains; therefore, to distinguish the two mountain ranges in the locality strings without duplicating a file for Kingman, "Kingman area" is used for the occurrences in proximity to Kingman in the mining districts of the Cerbat Mountains.
