Coordinates given in the Nature paper (1954) appear incorrect (24 53' 45'' : 83 13')

Coordinates shown here are based on the description and probable exposure visible on Google Maps north-west of the village.

Kornerupine was reported "in a small band of coarse biotite-schist in the pre-Cambrian pink biotite-gneisses, about a mile and a half north-west of Rannu")

It was reported this at the time was the only kornerupine occurrence where the mineral is associated with green Spinel.
