Rose Creek Star Garnet Mine


Fee collecting star garnet mine.

Rose Creek Mine has operated as a tourism gem mine in Macon County, North Carolina since its conception in 1952. During this same time, other tourism gem mines in the area also opened to the public for "fee collecting".
The mine was origionally refered to as "The Rose Creek Star Garnet Mine" however, it is now simply "Rose Creek Mine".
In 2023, Rose Creek Mine was sold to Sean Price, a local geologist, who has plans to expand the operations of the mine to accomodate the new age of rockhounding in the area.

Rose Creek Mine operates under North Carolina State Mining Liscense #57-10
