In the south 1/2 of lot 15, concession X, Perry Township, two hwy 11 bridges north and southbound pass over a small creek flowing west to east.

The bridge embutments are built from blast rock from the highway rockcut on the northbound lane. Blast rock forms the slopes beside the lanes and beneath the bridges as well.

The pit is located approximately 50 metres west of Highway #11, 600 metres south of the turnoff to Emsdale.

The country rock is a biotite-hornblende gneiss with minor amounts of quartz, plagioclase and garnet. A granitic pegmatite intrudes the gneiss in the area of the pit. No mineralization was observed.

*Please use extreme caution if venturing on or around slopes. This is a very dangerous place to be, the slopes are steep and rock and boulders may move under foot*
