Work on this property was commenced by the Genesee Feldspar Company in 1926 and has been continued to date. Mining has been confined to a side-hill exposure of pegmatite cutting obliquely into the face of a low ridge and capped by gneiss.
The spar body appears to have the character of a local swelling or lens-like enlargement of a dyke that did not extend to the surface. It has been
developed by means of a large drift, 20 by 20 feet, carried in along the dyke for a distance of 60 feet, the face being taken down by a succession of short benches. Up until 1931, about 2,000 tons of spar had been shipped
from this opening.
The dyke consists of ledges of pink spar separated by irregular masses
of quartz and contains numerous vuggy cavities; some of them of large
size. These cavities are often lined with quartz crystals and frequently
contain a filling of leached calcite.
The mine lies 3 miles from Hybla station on the Canadian National
railway. It was the only active producer in the district during 1930.
(Spence 1932)
In granite pegmatite dyke cutting amphibolite, marble and gneiss.
"The mine consits of a cave-like cut extending 33.5 m into the side of a hill. There is a large dump adjacent to it."
