Oberried is a village and muncipity south of Kirchzarten, approximately 12 km ESE of Freiburg in the Southern Black Forest.

East of Oberried the Zastlertal (Zastler Valley) is situated, leading to Feldberg Mt.In the upper Zastler Valley the Zeigerhalde, a steep slope next to the Klusenhütte is situated, there idiomorphic cordierite xls can be found.

The area can be reached from Oberried by taking the road into the Zastler Valley up to Feldberg Mt. You drive up to a parking lot in the upper valley. Then you have to walk the road (closed for driving) until you reach the Klusenhütte. Then take a forest road heading back to Oberried at the southern slope of the valley to reach the Zeigerhalde. There and below the forest road a migmatic gneiss can be found containing cordierite.

Unfortunately most of the xls are weathered to a greyish blue clay mineral, especially the ones in the creek bed.
