Zhdanov Ni-Cu-(PGE)
The Pilgujarvi intrusion, with a thickness of up to 600 m, represents the most extensive mafic–ultramafic intrusion within the eastern group. The intrusion is primarily composed of quenched metaclinopyroxenite, cumulates of olivine-chromite-sulfide and clinopyroxenite, followed by gabbro and diorite from the bottom to the top. Several magmatic sulfide deposits have been identified within the intrusion, among which the Zhdanov deposit is the largest and most significant. The wehrlite at the base of the intrusion contains the sulfide ore bodies. Various types of sulfide ores have been found in the Zhdanov deposit, including breccia ores, massive ores, disseminated ores, as well as net-textured ores. At the base of the ore body, massive ores are usually covered by disseminated and net-textured ores.
