Coney Mine; Granite Basin Mine


The mine was originally staked in 1892 with the first development work being in 1894. The mine was worked until 1897, when an accidental explosion killed several men outside the mine. The resulting litigation caused the mine to be closed. There has been no major work on the mine since then, with around 3,000 ft of tunnel being driven. The ore assayed highest in gold, with silver, copper, lead, and zinc also appearing.
