Slaný (German: Schlan) is a town in Kladno District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is located about 25 km northwest of Prague. The town is part of the Prague metropolitan area.
Upper Carboniferous Kladno-Rakovník Basin. Mineralization found in Upper Proterozoic sedimentary rocks 1003-1007 m below the surface during the excavation of Schaft Slaný.
