A skarn-like iron ore deposit which is characterised by the occurrence of garnet (impure almandine) as an essential and dominant paragenetic component (associated with quartz). The garnet represents the pre-Alpine regional metamorphosis. This mineral shows by its belteroporic textures and the resulting replacements of e.g. older quartz and siderite, that the deposit is of pre-Alpine age.

Several old mines and dumps.
