This place cannot be located with certainty. Kiran is possibly a generic name that actually refers to the Sar-e Sang deposit since it is occasionally used as an alternative spelling of the district capital Kuran (or, Kuran wa Munjan), which is located only a few kilometres south of Sar-e Sang. It is probably a settlement where miners live and sell specimens from other localities.
