Köppen climate type:
The pastoral station homestead is about 110 kilometres north-west of Newman, on the Munjini-Roy Hill Road. The Fortescue Marsh is to the north. Most activity is seen in hilly country to the south, as iron ore prospects, potential mines (Nyidinghu, Koodaideri, Maverick), small boutique iron ore mines (Iron Valley, Phils Creek), and large iron ore mines run by multi nationals (Yandi, Yandicoongina). Most are found on a huge 80 kilometre long palaeo channel iron deposit, which follows the modern east-west Marillana Creek valley, before turning north at its eastern end, and following the Weeli Wolli Creek valley, before sinking into the Fortescue Plain. The station also has an agate specimen location, commonly seen at overseas shows like Tuscon.
