Munjina Stone is a colourful silicified pelite from the Jeerinah Formation of the Fortescue Group aged 2765-2687 million (late Archaean). It is sold as slabs at the Tucson show, made into beads, pendants and spheres.

Mined by a Western Australian rock dealer, from a small deposit he states is in the Chitchester Ranges. Photographs supplied would tend to confirm it is on the southern side of the range, as the Hamersley escarpment can be seen to the south in the distance. The location is a closely guarded secret by the specimen miner. The nearest location with Munjina in its name is the east-west running, 210 kilometre long Roy Hill-Munjina Road, about 40 kilometres to the south of the Chitchester Ranges. There is no guarantee the location is on Marillana Station, being merely one pastoral property in the area. (more information needed).

Munjina Stone almost looks the same as Noreena Jasper (Mindat locality under Noreena Downs Station), elsewhere in the region. The writer is battling to tell the difference between the two. It is likely some labelled Noreena are Munjina, and vice versa. Both can also get labelled as Mookaite, and a variety of the other ever expanding 'jasper' type material produced from Western Australia for overseas export.

Munjina Stone is different from Crazy Lace Agate, this site also listed under Marillana Station.
