One of a group of small, abandoned copper-gold deposits hosted in granitic metamorphic rocks of the Willama complex, east of Olary. Discovered in 1887, 300 people rushed to the field, which closed after about 10years. The main mine was the Lux, which had very rich patches of gold in a 1m lode with some copper and silver, but overall grades proved low, and it closed in 1895.
