Hydrothermal gold deposit in andesitic volcanic rocks, related to a small diorite intrusion. Ore reserves are estimated at 12 tons of gold.
Intermediate sulfidation deposit.

Gold orebodies at Zhengguang are mainly associated with veins within three mineralized clusters, designated as the No. I, II, and IV zones in a clockwise arrangement. Four stages of veining were identified at Zhengguang based on fieldwork and petrographic observations. Stage I veins are composed of K-feldspar ± quartz ± pyrite ± chalcopyrite, magnetite ± hematite, and epidote ± quartz ± chalcopyrite ± pyrite. Propylitic alteration of the wall rock, primarily epidote-chlorite ± carbonate, formed during this stage. Stage II veins are characterized by quartz pyrite-sphalerite ± chalcopyrite ± galena ± electrum ± petzite ± hessite ± tetrahedrite/tennantite ± adularia with narrow alteration halos of quartz-illite ± pyrite, usually less than 10 cm wide. Stage III veins comprise (Mn-)calcite-quartz-pyrite sphalerite ± chalcopyrite ± galena ± hessite ± native gold ± arsenopyrite ± chalcedony ± fluorite ± adularia ± albite, often with quartz-illite ± pyrite halos typically less than 5 cm wide. Stage IV veins consist of calcite ± quartz ± chlorite ± hematite. Pyrite Re-Os isochrons of the Au-Zn mineralization re turned ages of 484.8 ± 8.7 Ma.
Au 35 t @ 2.59 g/t, Zn 80,000 t @ 1.05 wt %, Ag 100 t @ 12.03 g/t

The oldest known Phanerozoic Au deposit in NE China.
