Medium-scale iron skarn, occurring in the contact zone between carbonate rocks of the Fengfeng Formation and Mesozoic diorite and monzonite (intrusions dated at 126 Ma) of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation. The iron orebodies are stratiform and lensoid. The ore minerals occur as disseminations, masses, bands, and locally as breccia or honey combs. Their textures are idiomorphic, hypidiomorphic-xenomorphic granular, with minor metasomatic replacement and skeletal textures. Alterations are very intense and alteration minerals are diopside, tremolite, chlorite, actinolite, sericite and serpentine.
