Shear zone and quartz vein gold deposit in an intensely deformed zone that consists of isoclinal folds in metamorphosed volcanic and sedimentary rock of the Wutai Group and metamorphosed conglomerate of the Hutuo Group. Ores occur as bands, veinlets, disseminations, and stockworks. The bands consist of quartz, sericite, limonite, and sulphide minerals. The gold occurs along schistosity as disseminations and streaks.

Note: The USGS report quoted below provides a wrong grid reference for this deposit which plots about 25 km southwest of Yuanping. However, the deposit is located about 15 km east of Yuanping.
