Located on the outskirts of Banská Bystrica, under the Kremnica Mountains.

Small abandoned arsenic ore mining took place in northern part of Malachov ore district, on a southern slope of Sokolovo (Sokolie) hill. Mineralization forms impregnations and veins in breccia of dolomitic limestones of middle (upper?) Triassic rocks.
Excellent realgar and orpiment specimens are in old collections.
