Located 24 km east of Ravensthorpe and 300 metres north of the Ravensthorpe-Esperance Road.
Discovered by PMI 1964-1974, as were all the numbered Ni deposits listed on Mindat east of Ravensthorpe. It is a lens of serpentinized olivine peridotite, 100 metres thick, confined to a prominent embayment 500 metres long, occurring at the south dipping contact between siliceous metasediments to the north, and tremolite-chlorite overlain by metabasalt to the south.
The olivine peridotite forms a small hill, with an oxidation zone down to 30 metres from the surface. Talc-carbonate rock is common, with thin tremolite at the ultramafic base.
A shoot of disseminated sulphides, plunging south-east by 30 degrees, 360 metres long, 90 metres wide, at the basal part of the lens.
Within this shoot is a small body of breccia to massive Ni sulphide 120 metres long, and 25 metres wide. Disseminated sulphide within this grades up to 2% Ni, while massive sulphides is up to 18% Ni. Primary mineralisation is pentlandite and pyrrhotite, with minor pyrite and chalcopyrite. Millerite is found in some low grade disseminated sulphide ore.
