Placer worked especially ~ 1100 feet east of U.S. 522 bridge over Contrary Creek. The almandine occurred as a dodecahedron which contained 27.01 % Fe and 7.55 % Mn. The gahnite occurres as a spinel twin containing 34.16% Zn, 0.74 Cu, 0.13 Ni, 5.18 Fe, 0.11 Mn, 24.31 Al, and ~35.37% O by SEM.
