A cobalt mine opened in 1941. Ore is a vein in Mesozoic slaty mudstone.
History summary:
- Initially, started as Cu mine (Kuzukawa Mine) in early 20th century.
The mine had own refining facility.
Although annual yield of Cu ore was unknown, it was recorded some amount of coarse refined copper was yielded.
- In 1941, restarted by other owner, Cobaltite was found by trial digging.
- In 1944, last of WW II, expansion of mining facility was planed, but this plan was discarded because of end of the war, and this mine was closed in 1945.
