Located 3 miles west of Pony, on the NE flank of the Tobacco Root Mts.
Last mine to operate in the Pony Mining District,shutting down sometime in the early 1980's.
In 1954, began producing scheelite(tungsten) from scheelite-bearing schist.Gold was produced from auriferous pyrite.
Mine is still open(2004),but dangerous due to the possibility of collapse due to the excessive water flow entering through fractures,and the depth of water(3-4'+).
underground workings total about 1,800'+.

The Strawberry - Keystone group is 2.5 to 3.5 miles northwest from the town of Pony. The property is composed of six patented mining claims. The mine worked two main veins and several smaller ones. The Strawberry vein was four to seven feet wide at the upper levels. The Keystone vein was richer than the Strawberry vein. The Keystone vein changes from pegmatite to quartz within the walls of single fissure.
