Abandoned basalt quarry (alkali basalt), located 0.5 km SW of Hoffeld and 8.5 km west of Adenau.
The former basalt quarry on the Burgkopf is now flooded and forms a small lake with clear water (the Hoffelder See); it is not open to the public, is used by a fishing club, and is fenced in on all sides.
