Name:
Named in honor of the late Chinese mineralogist, Prof. Chen Guangyuan (1920-1999). Prof. Chen obtained his Degree of Licentiate from Uppsala University of Sweden in 1951 and became a teacher and researcher at Peking University between 1951 and 1952 and later at the China University of Geosciences in Beijing from 1952 to 1999. Prof. Chen is regarded as the pioneer and leader for both teaching and research in genetic and exploration mineralogy in China from 1950’s to 1980’s.
New structure type. Chemically similar to orlandiite and wangkuirenite. Two crystals known.
