Named in 2013 by F. Demartin, C. Castellano, and C.M. Gramaccioli in honor of Italo Campostrini (b. 1959), a very active mineralogist, especially in the study of volcanic sublimates, at the University of Milan.
Isostructural with:
Unique combination of elements (NH4-Bi-Na). The second NH4-Bi mineral after argesite.

Structure details: (1) two independent [9](Bi,Na) sites; (2) single [8]Na site; (3) single [8](NH4,K) site; (4) 3 independent sulfate groups; (5) Bi-coordinated water molecule.
