Name:
Named schuilingite in honor of Hendrik Jan Schuiling (13 February 1892, Deventer, Netherlands 24 March 1966, Waterloo, Belgium), Chief Geologist at Union Miniere du Haut-Kantanga. The suffix was added in 1987 to follow the Levinson rule, indicating the predominant essential REE.
