Named in honor of Marcel Gysin (1891–1974), Professor of Mineralogy, University of Geneva, who worked for several years in the Shaba Province of Zaire, where this mineral originated.
The lead analogue of calcioancylite-(Nd). The Nd analogue of gysinite-(La) and gysinite-(Ce).
