Named in honor of Slobodan Janković (21 August 1925, Arandjelovac, Serbia, Yugoslavia - ), Professor in the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia (now Serbia), in recognition of his work on the mineralogy and geology of the Allchar Tl-As-Sb deposit.
Chemically, the Sb-dominant analogue of rebulite (monoclinic). Also compare gungerite, drechslerite, gillulyite, and pierrotite.
