Named for the Ingoda deposit, Russia, the type locality.
Tetradymite Group.
Probably identical to "Mineral L" reported from eastern Yakutia by Gamyanin et al. (1978). Probably also identical to Unnamed (Bi Telluride Sulphide IV) which was described in 1978, i.e. three years before the official description of ingodite.
