A former Au-Pb-As mine located in secs. 12 & 13, T33N, R10W, MDM, 2.7 km (8,800 feet) SSW of Weaverville, along Democrat Gulch (on the ridge between West Weaver Creek & Democrat Gulch), . MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in schist. The ore body is irregular, strikes N35E and dips 45NW at a thickness of 4.27 meters. The adit cuts sandstone, then a serpentinized dike, and then an andesitic dike. The last 50 feet is in a light green, chloritic schist with layers of graphitic schist. The serpentine dike is 73 feet thick, strikes N77.5W toward the main vein. Averill (1926) describes a decomposed "porphyry." Associated rocks include andesite. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 7 (Klamath Mountains) and/or Oligocene nonmarine rocks, unit 1 (Northern California).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of a 340 foot tunnel with a second tunnel on the opposite side of the ridge. Older workings include shallow holes and a winze.

No specific production record was found. Iron sulfides stated to have been very productive of gold on parts of surface and in placers nearby. Several bunches of rich Au ore from the serpentine dike stated to have totaled perhaps $5,000 to $10,000 (period values).

Analytical data results: Quartz stringers in graphitic schist said to carry approximately 8% arsenopyrite.
