A former Hg occurrence/mine located in the center S½SW¼ sec. 11, T3N, R3W, MDM, 6.0 km (3.7 miles) E of Vallejo and 7.4 km (4.6 miles) N of Benicia, along the eastern slope of the mountain (W canyon wall of Sky Valley). Discovered in 1875. Production years were 1916 to 1918 and 1928 to 1930. Owned by the Hastings estate (1939). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Acid mine waters were encountered in 1930 and a court injunction closed the mine.

Mineralization is hosted in siliceous sinter and tufa holo (sic - MRDS [Holocene ?]) (carbonate). The ore body forms irregular masses that strike NW and dip NE at a width of 18.29 meters. Sediments and serpentine occur in breccia beneath a thrust fault. Both rocks are intruded by andesite dikes. Associated rocks include andesite dikes and serpentinite. Local alteration is silica-carbonate from andesite. Local rocks include Lower Cretaceous marine rocks.

Local structures include a thrust fault and breccia zone.

Workings include underground openings with a length of 335.28 meters and an overall depth of 34.14 meters.

Production data are found in: U.S. Bureau of Mines file data.

Analytical data results: 1.72% Hg.
