A former Pb-Ag-Zn-U occurrence/mine located in sec. 4, T2N, R1E, SBM, 4.7 km (2.9 miles) WNW of Big Bear City, along Van Dusen Canyon (Caribou Creek), N of Bertha Ridge, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in limestone. The ore body is podiform. Irregular pods occur in the mineralized zone with a maximum width of 30 feet. The zone strikes S60E and dips vertically. Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Mojave Desert) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 36.58 meters and an overall depth of 15.24 meters. A 30 foot vertical shaft and S-trending adit are both now caved. A 50 foot vertical shaft has 20 & 50 foot crosscuts driven from the 25 and 50 foot levels to the fault zone. No mineralization was found on the 50 foot level.

The 1930's yielded several tons of Pb-Ag-Zn ore.
