A Al-Ba(baryte)-Ca-Fe-magnesite-Mn-P-silica occurrence located in sec. 10, T3N, R26E, SBM, 4.3 km (2.6 miles) WNW of Black Meadow Landing, on state lease land (located claim). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
NOTE: USGS MRDS database file #10237016 places this locality in the SE¼NE¼ sec. 36, T4N, R25E, with coordinates of 34.39364, -114.3.
Mineralization is hosted in sedimentary rock. The ore body strikes N55W and dips 50S at a thickness of 12 meters, depth-to-top of 5 meters, width of 12 meters and a length of 457 meters. Ore body No. 1 is sedimentary and massive and ore body No. 2 is tabular and disseminated. Ore body No. 3 is a replacement body. The primary ore control was bedding while the secondary control was faulting. A massive fanglomerate over 100 feet thick has a 40 to 50 foot zone stained black with manganese oxide, that forms fillings around the rock constituents. The fanglomerate forms a massive reef and is offset 50 feet in the middle by a cross fault. The deposit appears to be bedded, but a difference in the degree of mineralization on the opposite sides of fissures indicates a fissure origin. Local rocks include Precambrian igneous and metamorphic rock complex and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
Analytical data results: The ore grades 5 to 12% Mn.
