Wheal Cubert was formed in 1846 by the amalgamation of Trebisken Mine and Wheal Mexico (earlier known as Trebellan Mine), two small lead producers in the valley south of Cubert village. After 1850, it was known as Cubert United Mine.
Between 1846 and 1857, the mines produced 1,334 tons of 63% lead ore and 7,912 oz of silver. Earlier productions from the individual mines are listed under the respective sub-localities.
