A former Mn-Fe-P-S-silica occurrence/mine located in the SE¼NW¼SW¼ sec. 28, T9N, R6E, SBM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) SSW of Cady Peak (coordinates of record), on the S flank of the Cady Mountains, N of Pisgah (on the sides and crest of a steep, narrow ridge trending SE), on Bureau of Land Management administered land (located claims). The property is comprised of 18 claims. Discovered in 1930. First produced in 1934. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in andesite. The ore body strikes N45W and dips 60N at a thickness of 18 meters, depth-to-top 1 meter, width of 32 meters and a length of 830 meters. Ore body No. 1 is tabular and in a fissure vein Ore body No. 2 is a breccia fill body. The primary mode of origin was hydrothermal activity. Primary ore control was fracturing. The secondary control was faulting. There is no wallrock alteration. A series of veins of calcite and psilomelane-type material occurs in a wide zone in the andesite. The veins follow individual fractures in a fissure zone that strikes NW, dips NE and is 50 feet wide. Mn oxides are associated with calcite and occur as replacements and fill material in fractures and breccias in andesite. These zones are intruded by a younger porphyritic andesite destroying a part of the ore body. Two NW-trending, tabular zones comprise the Logan Mine. The N zone strikes N70W and is 560 meters long. 80 meters of its strike length is destroyed by intrusion. The S zone strikes N40W and is 490 meters long. 140 meters of its strike length was destroyed by intrusion. The maximum width exposed on the outcrop is 35 meters, averaging 32 meters. The maxiumum thickness exposed is 21 meters, averaging 15 meters in the N zone and 18 meters in the S zone. The calcite is later in origin than the Mn oxide and fills the center of the veins. Some pyrolusite or manganite is present. Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 16 (Northern Mojave Desert).

Workings include unspecified surface openings (the topo map reflects 1 open cast mine symbol labeled "Logan Mine" at this point).
