Alteration: Some Argillization And Silicification

Deposit: Discovered and worked in 1870, reworked during periods 1916-18 and 1940-41. Mine is developed by adits and a shaft. The vein exposed in main adit has been stoped, in some places up to the surface. ; info.src : 1 pub lit; 2 unpub rept; 3 field observ the black warrior mine is developed on quartz-stibnite veins varying from 3 to 40 inches in width. The ore mineral stibnite occurs As small pods and streaks, and As individual crystals and blebs in the quartz. Tetrahedrite, pyrite and sphalerite are associated with the pods and streaks of stibnite. The larger and higher grade ore bodies are in the rhyolite with size and grade of deposits decreasing upward into the prida formation and downward into the rhyolite pyroclastic rocks. Rhyolite wall rock has been alltered adjacent to the veins. Pyrite commonly altered to limonite; tetrahedrite partially converted to malachite and azurite.. Wallrocks are pyritized and silicified.adjacent to veins.; model name could also be: simple sb.

Deposit type: Low-sulfide Au-quartz vein

Development: Discovered and worked in 1870, reworked during periods 1916-18 and 1940-41.. No activity in 1984, long idle.
