A former lode Cu-Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 11, 14 & 15, T15N, R8E, MDM, 2.0 km (1.2 miles) SW of La Barr Meadows (3.5 miles S of Grass Valley), on private (patented) land. The property comprises 16.93 acres or 55.22 acres (2 MRDS files). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Consolidated with the Next Norambegua and the Norambagua No. 2.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granodiorite. The ore body strikes N30E and dips 12-33E at a thickness of 0.25 meter. The vein averages 7 inches thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 731.52 meters and an overall depth of 126.19 meters and comprised of an incline with extensive workings.
Production to 1868 was estimated at $1,000,000 (period values).
