A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the W½ sec. 2 & in sec. 3, T15N, R8E, MDM, about (1.5 miles) S of Grass Valley, on private (patented) land. The property comprises 2.52 acres. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diabase. The ore body strikes NW and dips 30SW at a thickness of 1.83 meters. The vein is 4 to 6 feet thick and carries 3% sulfides. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 609.6 meters and an overall depth of 54.86 meters and comprised of an incline.
